Mr Binh Nguyen MBBS, FRACS.
Mr Binh Nguyen is a specialist General Surgeon who started private consulting at the Elms in August 2012. He graduated from the University of Melbourne and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, having completed his surgical Fellowship at the Northern Hospital, Victoria. He consults at The Elms every second Tuesday afternoon, and has previously worked in various locations in Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. In addition to his expertise in breast, thyroid and laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery, he also performs a wide range of general surgical procedures, such as hernia repairs, skin cancer surgery, gallbladder removal, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, in-grown nail surgery, carpal tunnel release, ganglion removal, haemorrhoid treatment, adult male circumcision, vasectomy and bowel surgery. Mr Nguyen operates locally at the Bacchus Marsh Hospital, as well as at the Werribee Mercy Hospital, the Northern Hospital (Epping), the Epworth Private Hospital (Richmond) and the Western Private Hospital (Footscray).

General Physician and Endocrinologist
Professor Lee Kennedy BSc MBChB, MD, PhD, FRCP(Edin), FRCP(Lon), FRACP.
Professor Lee Kennedy is a specialist General Physician and Endocrinologist who commenced private consulting at The Elms in October 2013. He completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Edinburgh and achieved the post-graduate degree of Doctor of Medicine for his research into thyroid auto-immune disease. His post-graduate specialty training took him to the Universities of Cambridge and Sheffield, culminating in the completion of his PhD in thyroid growth and development. Professor Kennedy holds Fellowships in the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and of London, as well as Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He consults at The Elms once a month on Thursdays, and has particular research interests in thyroid disease, obesity, diabetes, vascular disease and the use of information technology in medicine. He has held various senior positions, including Professor of Medicine at James Cook University, Queensland, Professor of Medicine at Deakin University and Barwon Health in Geelong, and Head of the Medical School at Deakin University, Geelong. He is currently a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Faculty of Health at Deakin University.

Dr John Zhu MBBS, PhD, FRACP.
Dr John Zhu is a specialist cardiologist who has been consulting privately at The Elms since February 2015. He attained his undergraduate medical qualification at Nanjing Medical University in China and completed a PhD in cardiology, also at Nanjing Medical University. Dr Zhu then underwent further specialist training in general and interventional cardiology in Hong Kong, Germany and Australia. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians with expertise in cardiac interventions such as performing stress tests, angiograms and the insertion of coronary stents. He also manages a broad range of general cardiological conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, ischaemic heart disease, pacemakers and arrhythmias. Dr Zhu holds clinical appointments at Ballarat Health Services (Ballarat Hospital) and the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne, as well as consulting privately. Patients can have their cardiac tests and procedures performed in Ballarat or Melbourne. Dr Zhu consults at The Elms once a month on Saturday mornings.

General and Breast Surgeon
Ms Ruth Bollard MBChB, MSc, FRCS, FRACS.
Ms Ruth Bollard is a specialist general and breast surgeon who has been consulting at The Elms since February 2016. She is a graduate of the University of Liverpool Medical School in the United Kingdom, and is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Ms Bollard has also been awarded the degree of Master of Science from the University of Hull, also in the United Kingdom. In addition to her role as a surgeon, Ms Bollard is the current director of the Grampians Integrated Cancer Services, current Chair of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Women in Surgery Executive Committee, and former Director of Surgery at Ballarat Health Services. Particular areas of expertise include breast cancer and reconstructive breast surgery, breast augmentation and reduction, thyroid surgery, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, hernia repairs, gallbladder removal, varicose veins, carpal tunnel release, and skin lesion removal. She consults at The Elms once a month on Monday afternoons. Ms Bollard performs operations at the Ballarat Base Hospital, and St John of God Hospital, Ballarat.
