You may be asked discreet questions by our staff to help determine timing and length of appointment. Our standard appointment time is 15 minutes. Longer consultation times are available, so please ask our reception staff upon making an appointment if you require extra time. For information about fees and billing, click here.
Longer appointments should be requested for:
• Health checks
• First consultation for new patients
• First visit for a new pregnancy
• Insurance and licence medical examinations
• Complex or multiple medical problems
• Surgical procedures
To avoid long waits:
Consider ringing prior to your appointment time to check for potential delays
Make sure you check in at reception on arrival
Enquire at reception if you have waited more than 30 minutes.
Cancelling appointments and Non-Attendance
Please ring as early in the day as possible, so that your time can be allocated to another person in need. Failure to cancel an appointment not only denies someone else the opportunity to seek medical care, but may also result in a fee being charged for non-attendance. This non-attendance fee will apply even if you are normally bulk-billed. Please note that Medicare does not provide a rebate for this fee.
If your doctor has specifically asked you to return for review and you are unable to keep your appointment, it is strongly advised for you to reschedule your appointment. Otherwise, there is a risk of your medical condition not being suitably followed-up.
Phone as early in the day as possible and indicate to our receptionist that it is urgent. We will try and book you into the first available doctor.
We are a tele-health enabled practice which means that we can conduct video consultations with your participating Melbourne-based specialists from our rooms. This is particularly suitable for patients who have difficulty travelling to Melbourne due to poor mobility. Tele-health is often ideal for review specialist visits where a face-to-face consultation is less crucial.

After hours care is provided at the Bacchus Marsh Hospital urgent care centre by some of our doctors on a roster in conjunction with other doctors.

Our doctors provide home and hostel visits for established patients within the township of Bacchus Marsh who are too ill to travel to the clinic. These are usually performed during the doctor's lunch break, hence requests for the same day must be made prior to 11.00am. Alternatively, if you are too ill to come to the clinic, you are welcome to telephone for advice.
